Consultants and engineers

A senior bench, deliberately assembled

Between them: two decades each in Azure and network architecture, platform operations at scale, accredited delivery governance, and design that is judged by outcomes. Several hold senior roles elsewhere and consult with us on engagements where their specialism is the one that matters.

Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma

Principal Consultant

Brno, Czechia

Twenty years across cloud infrastructure, enterprise networking, security and automation - on-premises datacentre networks, service-provider environments and large-scale Azure platforms alike. His design work runs from ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway and hub-and-spoke topologies through Private Link, DNS and Azure Firewall, and he automates what he designs with Terraform and CI/CD rather than leaving it to a runbook. Most recently he has been leading cloud connectivity engineering and enterprise AI enablement.

  • Azure network architecture
  • Hybrid connectivity
  • Terraform automation

Practised at Novartis, Tietoevry, IBM and AT&T. MSc Network Engineering, University of Sunderland.

Ralf Lenz

Ralf Lenz

Network Engineer

Bacolod, Philippines

Builds secure, sovereign, scalable and stable technology stacks for small and medium organisations - his words, and a fair description of how he approaches a network. Network and systems architecture on Juniper, Proxmox VE and VyOS, with a consistent bias toward owning the stack: his consulting record is full of engagements where self-hosted infrastructure replaced a spreading SaaS bill. He also runs vlan1337.com, a reference desk for technology managers - CVE and CERT tracking, IETF RFC search, ASN and geolocation lookup. The habit that produces a site like that is the one that reads an advisory before it becomes an incident.

  • Juniper, Proxmox and VyOS
  • Data-sovereign design
  • Network security

Practised at vlan1337.com, Nordklett and 15toKnow, where he was Director of Engineering.

Alin Buda

Alin Buda

UI/UX Designer

London, United Kingdom

Twenty years of building, scaling and fixing digital products, most of it through Brandise, the studio he founded in 2013. He has led product design inside commerce at scale - repeated engagements as lead product designer at Zalando - and between contracts he builds his own products rather than decks, which is why his design direction tends to survive contact with implementation. Outcome-focused by his own description: the design is judged by what it changes.

  • Product design
  • Design systems
  • Prototypes that ship

Practised at Brandise (founder), Zalando, Ethernity Cloud and 7DOTS.

Nicolas Roitero

Nicolas Roitero

DevOps Consultant

Brno, Czechia

A DevOps team lead since 2018, with a decade before that in operations and support - the order matters, because he automates like someone who has carried the pager. Ruby, Bash, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch and PostgreSQL are the working set; the recurring theme in his record is scripting away the failure that woke someone up last week.

  • Kubernetes
  • Ansible & Jenkins
  • Infrastructure automation

Practised at ROI Hunter, BetVictor, Lottoland and IBM. Trained in AIX and Linux administration.

Essowè Abalo

Essowè Abalo

Project Management Consultant

Czechia

Two decades of running complex IT programmes, and an accredited instructor for both PMI and PeopleCert - he teaches the methods he delivers with, which is a useful filter for whether they actually work. He has led a strategic PMO through an agile transformation at manufacturing scale, and his consulting pairs the governance with the training that makes it stick. Also a published author on change management.

  • PMI ATP instructor
  • ITIL 4 & PRINCE2 7
  • Agile transformation

Practised at Woloyem (CEO and co-founder), Foxconn Czech Republic, Gemalto and IBM. MBA in IT Management.

Patrick Bajeneza

Patrick Bajeneza

SAP Consultant

Brno, Czechia

Seven years a developer at SAP, and nearly six at Red Hat before that - four of them as a middleware support engineer, the job where you find out how enterprise Java actually fails in production. That pairing covers both ends of the enterprise stack: the vendor platform and the open-source foundation underneath it. It is the perspective you want when an SAP landscape has to meet a Linux and Kubernetes estate somewhere in the middle.

  • SAP development
  • JBoss middleware
  • Enterprise support

Practised at SAP, Red Hat, Pixmania, Motorola Solutions and IBM.

Amitabh Singh

Amitabh Singh

Senior Cloud Solution Architect

Munich, Germany

A cloud architect who works at broadcast scale, where the platform answers for peak load on a fixed date rather than an average month - four years at Sky, and three before that designing media cloud workloads down to the codec and packaging level. AWS-certified out of an IBM cloud practice, so his architecture arguments come with both hyperscalers in scope. He is the second architect on this list by design: cloud decisions here get reviewed by someone who did not make them.

  • AWS and Azure architecture
  • Broadcast-scale workloads
  • Migration design

Practised at Sky, IDEAL Systems Group, Cognizant and IBM.

Victor O.

Victor O.

IT Specialist

Nigeria

The only person here who has committed to the software every one of our platforms boots on: he has contributed upstream to systemd, modernising its unit tests, and to NixOS package infrastructure. Day to day it is DevOps - Python, Bash, containerised workloads, pipelines - but the reason to have him is the layer most teams treat as someone else's problem. He came up through AltSchool Africa's cloud engineering programme.

  • Linux internals
  • systemd and Nix
  • CI and containers

Practised at systemd and NixOS (open source), Outbound.im and AltSchool Africa.

Kim Harjamäki

Kim Harjamäki

IT Consultant

Helsinki, Finland

Twenty years that started in SAN and storage engineering and ended up in Azure architecture - the unusual direction, and it shows in how he treats reliability. Terraform and Bicep, AKS, GitHub Actions pipelines, and security governance aligned to ISO 27000; certified through Azure Solutions Architect Expert. He publishes his architecture and automation samples openly, which is the fastest way to check whether an engineer's practice matches their CV.

  • Azure architecture
  • Terraform & Bicep
  • ISO 27000 governance

Practised at Prosimo Oy, Innofactor, insightsoftware and Hewlett-Packard. Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).

Michele Cardinali

Michele Cardinali

Web Designer & Developer

Turin, Italy

A web designer and developer who does both halves properly, which is rarer than the job title suggests: the layout arrives with the markup that renders it. Five years of studio work in and around Turin - three of them in-house at an agency, now freelance across two studios - with WordPress as the delivery platform throughout. Wireframe to live site, one person, which is exactly the shape most SMB sites need.

  • WordPress
  • Web design
  • Design-to-build

Practised at Libellula Studio, [eh] studio and Liquid Srl.

How we staff

What a senior bench actually changes

You get the practitioner, not a proxy

The person named on the engagement does the work. Nobody on this page is a nameplate for a delivery pool.

Two architects, not one opinion

Cloud and network design here is reviewed by an architect who did not draw it. Disagreement early is cheaper than migration later.

The people who build it run it

Our engineers operate the platforms they design, which is why we choose boring technology and automate the parts that page at night.

Marco Vega

Marco Vega

WordPress Developer

Cartagena, Colombia

A senior WordPress and front-end developer we have built projects alongside - seven years of WordPress work through Toptal, a volunteer stint on Mozilla's Firefox DevTools, and now leading engineering at a product studio. He is listed here because the work was real and the credit belongs where it was earned.

  • WordPress
  • Front-end engineering

Practised at Fueled, Toptal and Mozilla (Firefox DevTools, volunteer).
